About Us

Bilingual musical theater for our community — on stage and beyond.

Our Missi n

Broadway Sin Barreras is a nonprofit theater initiative dedicated to expanding opportunities for Latiné artists and audiences in musical theater through bilingual storytelling and original works.
Through its cabaret program Broadway Sin Vergüenza, we present original musical telenovelas developed through workshops and performed as Telenovela Nights — a live double-feature experience inspired by gathering to watch novelas together.
We also produce bilingual revues, staged readings, and theatrical concerts that celebrate the musical theater canon while reflecting the language and culture of the Latiné community.

Our St ry

Broadway Sin Barreras began as an experiment in bilingual storytelling rooted in the Latiné experience.
Our first presentation took place on October 31, 2025 at The Producer’s Club, featuring Defying in Spanglish and Passions of the Plantains: Bananas of Betrayal. The response revealed a clear appetite for this work.
We returned on February 25, 2026 at Pregones/PRTT with two new telenovelas: Champagne Tears: The Rich Also Cry and Querida: Amor Sin Final, leading to the creation of the Broadway Sin Vergüenza Telenovela Nights Cabaret Circuit.
Without a permanent theater space, we embrace an intimate style of storytelling focused on performance, music, and direct audience connection.

Founder’s Note

“I didn’t want to ask for a seat at the table — I wanted to build our own.
Broadway Sin Barreras exists to create space for bilingual and bicultural artists who have too often been left out of the story.
We are building the stage ourselves — sin barreras.”
